Home Improvement Projects Using Small Excavators

by Bella

Most home improvement projects from a traditional perspective often use manual labour for the most part of the project and often handheld power tools, sledgehammers, shovels and wheelbarrows become part of the entire project’s collage.

Even in current times, many homeowners embarking on renovation projects for their homes often take the traditional path which is not just costly mainly due to the cost of manual labour, but also lengthy and messy due to the confusion, the mess and the inefficiencies linked to manual labour.

As most of you reading this may be aware of the fact that the ‘right tool’ is a critical factor towards executing tasks effectively and efficiently and the use of manual labour may have been the ‘right tool; factor in the past, but things have changed drastically.

The use of manual labour ‘entirely’ for home improvement projects has become a thing of the past due to the developments within the heavy machine industry which has introduced small sized excavators or mini excavators to the world.

The rental of small sized excavators 2 tonne and below can often make a world of difference to home improvement projects in terms of cost and time.

Small or commonly referred to as mini excavators are incredibly useful for a wide range of tasks and it these machines have been noted to fast-track any home improvement project efficiently.

Whether the project revolves around building a deck, clearing overgrown bushes around the property, creating bases for pathways or even demolishing small structures these small sized excavators are able to complete the same amount work in half a day which otherwise would require six manual workers two days to complete.

For example, if a project is to build a deck, there will be a need to excavate or drill holes in order to set concrete footings, using manual labour generally takes time and issues with accuracy often result in delays, in contrast, using the latest mini excavator models that come with a range of technological features could perform the same task with rapid precision for the deck’s structural support which saves time and time is money.

As another example, clearing projects (such as clearing overgrown bushes) using manual labour could take days as it is not easy to dig up the root systems of overgrown vegetation manually, however using a small excavator, the job of clearing and moving cleared vegetation into a dumper could be done in no time at a fraction of the cost.

Despite being small in size, compact excavators are powerful enough to manage just about any home improvement project task. However, buying a compact excavator is not recommended as these machines are pricey and it is more practical to rent these machines due to numerous reasons such as ownership costs, storage costs and long-term maintenance costs.

Renting these machines is quite easy and most construction equipment rental companies even offer pickup and drop-off services which eliminates the hassle of transporting these excavators to and from project sites.
